Outcrop Analogue Studies

Outcrop studies provide tremendous insight for reservoir characterization and the development of exploration play concepts. Lateral stratigraphic relationships can be seen not just inferred and generally aliases like they are in the subsurface. This is especially critical for reservoir characterization efforts where quality field management depends on the quality of the geologic model. Once quality outcrops have been measured and mapped, improved reservoir models can be developed.
