Course
Overview -— Techniques for Hydrocarbon Detection and Evaluation
COURSE
OVERVIEW
This
course is intended to introduce through lectures and exercises current
concepts and techniques needed for properly detecting and evaluating
hydrocarbon shows. The session includes both scientific background
and practical application. It clarifies terminology, stresses methodology
and reporting procedures. The course includes a training manual.
DESIGNED
FOR
Exploration,
Production, and Well Site Geologists, Reservoir Engineers
LEARNING
OBJECTIVES
Upon
completion of this course participants should be able to:
differentiate
between solid and dead hydrocarbons
given a
set of well samples, properly detect hydrocarbons using suitable
combinations of nine different hydrocarbon tests
list five
routine hydrocarbon detection methods and describe what these
can tell you about hydrocarbon quality
outline
proceedure for reporting hdrocarbon shows and information recorded
on lithlogs or well site reports.
